API Tokens

Last updated on June 25, 2025

In this area you can manage API tokens. The API token is a unique identifier that allows external web applications to establish a secure connection to the app.

Account API Key

There is an existing token here that is currently called "Account API Key" and will be renamed "Mail API Key" in future. This key is required if leads are to be submitted by email. Beyond that, it has no further function.

Personal access tokens

In this area you can create personal access tokens, which are required whenever someone wants to submit leads or access the API. To create a token, you must enter a name. After creation, the token is displayed once only. It is important to store it securely, because it is then saved in encrypted form in the database and cannot be recovered. If the token is not saved, it must be generated again.

This area contains a list of all API tokens that have been created for the user. Individual tokens can also be deleted here via the 'bin icon', for example if a token has become publicly known. In that case, the affected token can be deactivated and replaced with a new one. This area also provides an overview of when the token was created and when it was last used. Every access to the API is logged, so the date of last use can be viewed here, e.g. "last used on 14.08.2024".
