What does the "After Lead Tag Attached" trigger do?
The "After Lead Tag Attached" trigger starts an automation automatically as soon as a new tag is added to a lead. This allows you, for example, to run integrations or change the lead status without having to intervene manually.
Detailed guide
In an automation, you define that attaching a tag is the trigger. Optionally, you use a condition to restrict which tag should be reacted to.
- Navigate to Automations > Automations.
- Create a new automation or open an existing one.
- Select the "After Lead Tag Attached" entry as the trigger.
- Optional: add the "Lead Tag" condition to react only to a specific tag.
- Select the desired action (e.g. run integration, change lead status, change lead type).
- Save the automation and activate it.
Note: The trigger reacts to tags that are attached manually in the interface, via the call centre, via the API or by the "Set Lead Tags" action.
Further frequently asked questions
When exactly is the trigger fired?
As soon as a new tag is added to a lead. The source does not matter – whether manually, via the call centre, via the API or by another automation.
Can I react only to a specific tag?
Yes. Add the "Lead Tag" condition and select the desired tag. The automation is then only run for this tag.
Is the trigger also fired if an existing tag is set again?
No. The trigger only reacts to newly attached tags. If a tag is already set, the automation is not triggered again.
For which lead statuses does the trigger work?
The trigger applies to leads in the statuses New, Approved, Assigned, Pending, In progress, Rejected, Invalid and Review.
What happens when an automation is re-run manually?
When re-run manually, the "Lead Tag" condition uses the tags currently present on the lead, so that the condition is checked correctly.
