How can I organise custom fields into groups?
With the new field groups function, you can divide the custom parameters of a lead type into logical sections. These groups are displayed wherever leads of the corresponding lead type are shown — on lead detail pages, in forms and in email notifications.
How do I create a field group?
- Navigate to Settings > Lead types and select the desired lead type.
- Scroll to the Custom fields section.
- Click the Add field group button at the top right.
- Enter a name for the group (e.g. “Contact details” or “Address”).
- Click Save settings.
How do I assign a field to a group?
- Click the gear icon (field settings) next to the desired field.
- In the Group section, select the desired group from the dropdown menu.
- Click Save settings.
Fields that are not assigned to a group continue to be displayed without a section heading — exactly as before.
Can I change the order of the groups?
Yes. In the Field groups section above the field list, you can adjust the order of the groups using the arrow buttons (up/down). The order defined there is applied in all views.
What happens if I delete a group?
If you remove a group, all fields that were assigned to this group are automatically treated as “ungrouped” again. The fields themselves and their data are fully retained — no information is lost.
Are existing fields automatically sorted into groups?
No. All existing custom fields remain unchanged and without a group assignment after the function is activated. Grouping is entirely optional and must be configured manually.
Does grouping affect the API or validation?
No. Field groups are purely visual and have no effect whatsoever on API responses, validation rules or existing business logic. The data structure remains unchanged.
